The issue
Inner-city foundation projects place high demands on equipment. Foundation contractors need a powerful and reliable concrete pump that can be deployed quickly despite a relatively low daily concrete volume and that delivers consistent concrete quality under high pressure.
At the same time, stricter requirements regarding emissions, nitrogen and noise are driving growing demand for electric construction equipment. The challenge was therefore to develop an emission-free concrete pump without compromising the reliability, robustness and performance for which SCHWING-Stetter is known.
The design also had to account for short operating periods, high peak loads, long idle periods and easy repositioning on the construction site.
The solution
The existing drivetrain was completely redeveloped into a powerful electric solution perfectly matched to the concrete pump’s specific operating profile. An NMC battery supplies the machine with energy for approximately two days, while the 700 V system enables high power output without placing unnecessary strain on the battery.
Thanks to the integrated tracks, the compact concrete pump can move independently, quietly and precisely around the construction site. The hydraulic system is used intelligently for both the pumping unit and the travel drive.
The electric drivetrain and significantly reduced operating hours also substantially lower maintenance requirements. The result is an emission-free, reliable and highly efficient concrete pump developed specifically for demanding inner-city foundation projects.
