The issue
For overhead line work, there was a need for a rail-mounted aerial work platform with an exceptionally large platform, suitable for a team of six workers and their materials. This high capacity made the development technically complex and demanding from a certification perspective. The machine had to operate safely, stably and accurately on varying track conditions, while also being able to move slowly during installation work. High standards for reliability, safety and functionality were essential. The challenge was to translate practical requirements from the rail industry into a compact, powerful and fully certified mobile machine.
The solution
In close collaboration with the customer and certification authorities, we developed and built a completely new rail-mounted aerial work platform specifically designed for overhead line work. The machine features a compact, rigid undercarriage with integrated hydraulics and pneumatics, an adjustable levelling frame and a precisely controlled electro-hydraulic drive system. The large extendable platform accommodates six workers and their materials, enabling efficient operation with minimal interruption. Smart weighing technology continuously monitors the load and adjusts machine functionality accordingly. We also developed an interactive safety system that guides the operator and supports correct operation. The result is a powerful, safe and user-friendly custom solution for professional rail maintenance.
